Welcome to the Data-Driven Learning Lab (DDL-Lab) at University of California San Diego!
We are a research group at the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute (HDSI) focused on educational data mining, human-centered AI, and mental health support in computing education. We build and study tools such as learning platforms, AI-assisted systems, and data-driven interventions to better understand and support how students learn. Our recent work explores how AI techniques, including large language models (LLMs), combined with human-centered design principles, can support both student learning and instructors in computing courses.
